Bill Cline of Claypool, WV Bill "Big Dog" Cline, 78, of Davin, took his final flight on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston, after a sudden heart attack. He was born on June 15, 1938, at Mallory, a son of the late Minister Densil and Truby Grimmett Cline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Cline; sister, Patty Yvonne Cline; and grandparents, Burgess and Hattie Cline and Albert and Goldie Grimmett. Bill was a 1957 graduate of Man High School where he played football. He was a member of the Old Man High School Alumni Association, the Man High Quarterback Club, and was a charter member of the Man High School Hall of Fame, as well as serving as a Hall of Fame Committee member. A retired preparation plant foreman, Bill worked for over 40 years for Island Creek Coal Company and Pittston Coal Company. He was a former Little League coach and served on the Board of Directors of the Man Little League along with his good friend Tom Keffer. He was a member of the Masonic Aracoma Lodge Number 99. An avid golfer, Bill was a member of the Brier Patch Country Club, Clear Fork County Club, and Triadelphia Country Club. He loved to garden with his garden buddies, Posey and Sid Perry; the fruits of their bounty were often received by friends and neighbors. His major loves were the inspiration of his nickname the G-Man: God, Grandchildren, Golf, and Gardening. Greater than his community interests, his greatest passion was serving the Lord. Bill was a faithful member of the Claypool United Methodist Church since 1972 where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the Trustee Board, member of the Finance Committee, Lay Leader, Certified Lay Speaker, the longest active member of the United Methodist Men, member of the choir, and Sunday school teacher. He was also the administrator of the Claypool Cemetery. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 53 years, Sally Cline; one daughter, Shawn (Terry) Riggins of Man; three grandsons, Tyler (Tiffany) Riggins of Scott Depot, Evan (Rachael) Riggins of Cyclone, and Jacob Riggins of Pikeville, KY; two great-grandsons, Preston Hawk Rorrer and Brooks Alexander Riggins; four sisters, his twin sister, Betty Cline and Beatrice Sias, both of Mallory, Bonnie Robinette of Man, and Barbara (Greg) Wright of Cyclone; his God-daughter, Ambria "Bam" (Will) Carpenter of Davin; several nieces and nephews, Bill's special canine companions, Honey Bee and Miss Ellie; and his church family along with a host of other relatives and friends.
