Lola Goodman
of Christian, WV
Lola Goodman, 88, of Christian, joined her husband in their Heavenly home on Monday, June 27, 2016, leaving from her earthly home surrounded by her loving family, after an extended illness.
She was born on February 7, 1928, at Christian, a daughter of the late Edward and Charlotte Toler Goodman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Goodman; one son, Morris Dale Goodman; 13 siblings, Robert, Harry, Mable, Tressie, Willie, Elmer, Orville Eugene, and Bobby Goodman, Sybil Plymale, Nina Grimmett, Alberta Combs, Nellie Likens, and Betty Lou "Laurie" Brumfield; 3 grandchildren, Lola Michelle Davis, Tasha Conley, and Henry "Spud" Glandon; and one great-grandchild, Brittany Gale Childers.
Lola was a home maker. A member of the Pathway Church of God, she enjoyed attending church when she was able. A friendly person, Lola enjoyed outings, eating out, drinking coffee, and visiting family and friends. She loved being involved in guiding children, whether they were her own, family, foster, or community children, they all became "her own".
Those left to cherish her memory are nine children, Marie (Ozie) Burgess of Neibert, Brenda (Rev. Bruce) Brumfield of Lumberton, NC,, Sandra (Steve) Wallace of Amherstdale, Reta (Raymond "Buddy") Conley of Blair, Eugene (Tina) Goodman of Baisden, Beatrice Goodman of Christian, Frank (Deidre) Goodman of Blair, Josh (Ashley) Goodman of Accoville, Margaret "Cathy" (Joby) Farley of Clear Fork; 38 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren; a special caregiver, Maggie Evans; and a special great-granddaughter, Cassandra Cline.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, July 1, 2016, at the Pathway Church of God at Christian with Rev. Joe Lane and Rev. Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Pathway Church of God and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
