Lois Jean "Cookie" Rose
of Davin, WV
Lois Jean "Cookie" Rose, 52, of Davin, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2016, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness.
She was born on December 8, 1963, at Logan, a daughter of the late Johnny Sam, Sr. and Lois Jean Bradley Fortuna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Sam "Skippy" Fortuna, Jr.; one sister, Nickolena Susie "Sissy" Fortuna Jones; and a special sister-in-law, Linda Rose.
Cookie was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend who loved her family time. She was a Christian and attended the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church when she was able.
Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her passing include her loving husband of 15 years, Robert "Buck" Rose; two sons, Brandon Gage and Brian Casey, both at home; two step-daughters, Krista (Glenn) Strader of NC and Kerra Rose and her fiancé, Adam Keeney of VA; one step-son, Robert (Alison) Rose of Davin; six step-grand-children, Logan, Tanner, and Jett Mangus and Jenna, Laci, and Robert Rose; four brothers, Tony, Michael, and Ronald Fortuna and Fredrick Steven McCloud; two sisters, Loretta (Tom) Murray and Nickolena Fortuna; her parents-in-law, Dewey and Gaynell Rose; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Barney Goines officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
