Richard "Dicky" Curry
of Accoville, WV
Richard "Dicky" Curry, 67, of Accoville, departed this life on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at CAMC-Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 23, 1948, at Proctor Bottom, a son of the late Marcus Ray and Frances Crabtree Curry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by three brothers, Estil Curry, Sammy Curry, and Eddie Curry.
Dicky was a 1966 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. Returning to Logan County, he was employed with various coal companies, where he was disabled after 17 years of service.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Pam Curry; three daughters Daryla (Keith) Jackson of Davin, Traci (Allen) Francis of Thurmond, NC, and Samantha (Kenneth) Mills of Kistler; one sister, Sue (Johnny) Trogdon of Cloverdale, VA; one brother, Tommy (Sue) Curry of Chapmanville; six grandchildren, Nickolas, Nathaniel, Zoey, Kelsy, Richard, and Carly; many nieces, nephews, along with a host of other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating, where military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts.
Visitation will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home also.
To honor Dicky's wishes, his remains will be cremated after the services.
