Rev. Audrey Rose Keeney
Of Davin, WV
Rev. Audrey Rose McCane Keeney, 82, of Davin, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 11, 2014, from her home, after a long illness.
She was born October 17, 1931, at Mallory, the daughter of the late Rev. C.G. and Rosa Sammons McCane.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Joe Keeney; two sisters, Edith Garrett and Juanita Dugan; and four brothers, Charles McCane, Bernard McCane, Wetzel McCane, and Ralph McCane.
Rev. Keeney was a home maker, minister, and retired teacher's aid formerly employed with the Logan County Board of Education. She was a member of the Mallory Church of God, where she had served as an associate pastor and Adult and Young Adult Sunday School Teacher. When needed, she had also served as an assistant to the state overseer. Rev. Keeney was the pastor of two churches, St. George Church of God and the Dorothy Church of God for several years.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Mrs. Roger "Buddy" (Vickie) Wooten of Davin; two sons, Freddie Joe (Linda) Keeney of Cyclone and Cecil (Selena) Keeney of Davin; a very special friend, Vernon Franklin; 11 grandchildren, Angela (Roberto) Mendives, Roger Lee (Erica) Wooten, Audrey Rose (Corey) Harbert, Fredrick "Rickie" Wooten, Steven (Kendra) Keeney, Aron Keeney, Erica (Kenny) Craddock, Adam Keeney, Brian Keeney, Jonathan Keeney, and Nicole Keeney; and 14 great-grandchildren, Robe, Markus, Gabriel, and Ezequiel Mendives, Roger Lee, III, Eric, Nathaniel, and David Wooten, Maciah Lee Harbert, Alex, Mazie, Owen, and Gabriel Keeney, and Cash Craddock; several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The Keeney family would like to thank Audrey's caregivers, Pride in Logan County, ARH Home Healthcare, and Logan Hematology and Staff.
A celebration of her life service will be held at 12 Noon Monday, April 14, 2014, at the Mallory Church of God with Rev. Shaun Walker, Rev. Donald Lafferty, and Brother Charles Paynter officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services at the church.
Pall bearers will be her grandsons.
