Tootsie Adkins Maynard
of Lyburn, WV
Tootsie Adkins Ellis Maynard, 81, of Lyburn, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2015, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness.
She was born October 31, 1934, at Amherstdale, a daughter of the late Emery Hobert and Katherine Adkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, John R. Maynard, Jr.; one son, Buell Elliott Ellis; one daughter, Alberta Wells; one sister, Eunice Adkins; two grandsons, Jerry Ellis and Michael Donavan Maynard; one granddaughter, Shelia Wells; one great granddaughter, Cassandra Sammons; and one grand daughter-in-law, Lyla Watkins Maynard.
Tootsie was a former factory worker and a home maker. She was a member of Lyburn Free Will Baptist Church for 39 years and was an active member of Ladies Aide for many years. An inspiration to all who knew her, she will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Delie Maynard of Lyburn; three sons, Larry (Delsie) Maynard of Earling, Lonnie (Lisa) Maynard of McConnell, and Danny (Linda) Adkins of IL; one brother, Roosevelt (Ruby) Adkins of IN; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; special niece and friend, Carol (Vernon) Nichols of Lyburn; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2015, at the Lyburn Free Will Baptist Church at Lyburn with Rev. Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to services also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
