Obituary of Paul Vanover

Paul Vanover of Lundale, WV Paul Vanover, 76, of Lundale, departed this life to be with Jesus at 1:34 a.m. October 24, 2015, leaving from his home, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. He was born September 26, 1939, at Lorado, a son of the late Orville and Dixie Hooser Vanover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Edgar, Ernest, Earl, Joe, Tom, Raymond, and Albert Vanover; and two sisters who died at birth. Paul was a member of the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church. Serving his church as a Deacon, he loved being a servant to his church family. Paul was ordained as a Deacon in 1976. He was a coal miner for 24 years and was a member of the UMWA local 8454. Always willing to lend a helping hand to all who needed it, Paul will be missed by everyone who knew him. Those left to miss him and cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Norma Maynard Vanover; two sons, Duane (Eva) Vanover and Jamie (Stephanie) Vanover, both of Lundale; eight grandchildren who were very special to him, Courtney Vanover of Charleston, SC, Nick Vanover of Conway, SC, Kierstyn, Emilee, Jacob, Linzie, Aaron, and Luke Vanover, all of Lundale; his brother, Frank Vanover of Woodbridge, VA; seven sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law; and a host of other family and friends. A home going service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church at Lundale with Pastor Bobby Adkins officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum where military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 & American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts. Visitation will be held from 6-10 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to services also. Pall bearers will be his two sons, Duane and Jamie; his grandson, Jacob, brother-in-law, Tom Moore, nephew-in-law, Gary Peters, longtime friend, Randy "Twinkie" Davis.
