Elva Mae Roach
of Logan, WV
Elva Mae Roach, 87, of Logan, formerly of Chapmanville and Man, was embraced by Jesus Christ as he took her to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 18, 2015, leaving from Trinity Healthcare at Logan, after a long illness.
She was born on September 10, 1928, at Riley Camp, a daughter of the late Robert Bud "Bob" and Jessie Leverton Duncan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Virginia Elizabeth Meade and Micki Carol Meade; two sons, Phillip Gary Meade and Mark Allen Meade; three brothers, James Robert, Harold Gene, and Arnold Duncan; and two sisters, Virginia Duncan and Joyce "Annie" Dials.
Elva was a cook at the Tape Hut at Man for 16 years. She also worked as a caretaker for the disabled. Elva was a member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, writing poetry, being around children and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Stephen (Terry) Meade of Chapmanville and David Gregory (Lisa) Meade of Delbarton; ten grandchildren, Christopher Plumley, Amie (Seth) Fowler, Carrie Oakley, Stephen (Kena) Meade, Rebecca Meade and her fiance Jimmy Brumfield, D'Mekka Meade, Tyler Meade, Ridge Meade, Titus Perry, and Marcus McCoy; and many great-grandchildren a special sister-in-law, Fran Duncan; two special friends, Heidi Meade and Carol Meade; those who also helped with her care, Norma Deskins, Phencia Sammons, Sherry Belcher, and Hazel Wallace; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Trinity Healthcare for all their love, care, and kindness during our time of grief.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Becco United Baptist Church at Becco with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Becco United Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall bearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pall bearers will be Timmy Deskins, Seth Fowler, and Zach Ellis.
