Dolly Roark Wallace
of Accoville, WV
Dolly Roark Wallace, 69, of Accoville, departed this life on earth, on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with Melanoma.
She was born November 2, 1945, at Lundale, the daughter of the late James L. Sr. and Ethel Pearl Stidhams Roark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Beulah Roark Adkins; three brothers, Bill Roark, Tommy Roark, and Jimmy Roark; five other infant brothers and sisters; her brother-in-law, Ollie Adkins; two sisters-in-law, Stella Roark and Amanda "Tootsie" Roark; two great-nieces, Chastity Hatfield and Angela Adkins; two great-nephews, Daniel Adkins and Ethan Adkins.
Dolly was a loving aunt, sister, and friend. She was known to many by her nickname, "Doll Doll" given to her by her great-great-nephew, Tyler. Dolly was a member of the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church. For many years, she was employed by the Hanes/Sara Lee Corporation in NC. After moving back home to WV, Dolly was employed at Buffalo Foodland and Burgess and Lohn Supermarket from which she retired. Dolly loved sewing, crafts, cake baking and decorating, cooking, attending church, and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her nephew, David Adkins and his wife, Rhonda, of Accoville with whom she made her home; their children, Cindy (Jerry) Johnson and their children, Tyler Vance and Kassidy Hawkins, Cathy (Andy) Harvey and their children, Jacquelyn and Kynleigh Harvey, and David Adkins II and his fiance, Leslie Trent, all of Accoville, all of whom she considered to be her own children; one sister, Shirley (Johnny) Sansom of Cyclone and their children, Vicki (Brian) Evans and their children, Nathaniel and Matthew Evans, Johnny (Sabrina) Sansom and their children, Jeremiah, Dakota, Dillon, and Lily Sansom, and Kevin Sansom; several nieces and nephews, James (Diana) Adkins, Richard (LaDonna) Adkins, Darrell (Delores) Adkins, Deborah (Glenn) Moore, Robert Adkins, Randy (Annette) Cooper, Ricky (Kena) Cooper, Robin (Tommy) Ellison, Troy (Dianna) Roark, Sherrie White, Mike (Elva) Roark, 18 other great-nieces and great-nephews; 14 great-great nieces and great-great nephews; special God niece, Taylor Brooke Owens; and special friends, Rita J. Vance and Juanita Harvey; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Dr. Sathish, Dr. Radha and Staff, Dr. Waris and staff, and also Carolyn "Pringles" Robinson of Dignity Hospice.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church at Lundale with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Nephews, great-nephews, and great-great-nephews will serve as pall bearers.
