Dallas Gene Nichols
of Madison Creek, WV
Dallas Gene Nichols, 76, of Madison Creek, is now rejoicing with the Lord, leaving from his home on October 14, 2015, after a extended illness.
He was born October 15, 1938, at Mallory, a son of the late Harlen and Mamie Fugate Nichols.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Drema Gail Nichols; two grandsons, Jermia Barnett and Charles Adkins; four brothers, Winfield Cooper, and Vernon, Kenneth, and Harlen Nichols.
Dallas was a heavy equipment operator who retired in 2003 with 49 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and his special little puppy, Sandy, and hunting.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Dorsilene Maynard Nichols; 11 children, Troy (Rose) Nichols, Rhoda Brown, Dallas Henry (Sherri) Nichols, Vernon (Carol) Nichols, Kathy (Keith) Mullins, Donna (Gerald) Wells, Rosemary Adkins, Renee Lawrence, Mamie Nichols Lambert, Angel (Cotton) Goodman, and Stephanie (Brian) Stewart, all of Lyburn; 22 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; five special friends, Donna and Joey Maynard, Timmy and Rodney Smith, and Michael Baisden; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank all of the Logan Regional Medical Center staff on the Fifth floor, ICU, CCU, and all the doctors that assisted with his care.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Pastor Billy Addair officiating. Burial will follow in the Nichols Family Cemetery at Madison Creek.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services also.
Pallbearers will be James Blunt, Brian Stewart, Gerald Wells, Joey Maynard, Cotton Goodman, Kevin Stewart, Paul Chambers, Justin Mullins, Timmy Smith, and Rodney Smith.
