Daisy Mae Gibson
of Curtis, WV
Daisy Mae Gibson, 75, of Curtis, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2015, leaving from CAMC-Memorial Division, after a short illness.
She was born July 8, 1940, a daughter of the late Charlie and Nora Gunnoe Osborne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Gibson; one son, Ray Gibson; three sisters, Mary and Sarah Osborne and Angeline Felty, one brother, William Osborne; and several half-sisters and half-brothers.
Daisy was a home maker and a loving wife, mommy, mawmaw, sister, and friend. She was a member of the Independent Baptist Church at Curtis. A generous, loving, and kind woman, Daisy opened her home to anyone in need.
Those left to cherish her memory are ten children, Daniel (Brenda) Gibson, Andrew (Vickie) Gibson, Edith (Eddie) Smith, Early (Vickie) Gibson, and Ettaff (Dennis) Osborne, all of Lorado, Freda (Earl) Osborne of Glen Daniel, Manuel (Sueann) Gibson, Norene Gibson, Benjamin Gibson, and William Donnie (Jessica Osborne) Gibson, all of Lorado; two sisters, Fannie (John) Hurley of Low Gap who was also Daisy's lifelong best friend and Arminta Osborne of Lorado; one brother, Arthur Osborne of Lorado; 34 grandchildren, Amanda (Phil) Jude, Samantha (Charles) Osborne, Amy (Andrew) Lusk, Candice Booth, Joseph (Jennifer) Toler, Angel (Don) Johnson, Marlene Vance, Charlene (Michael) Holcomb, Isaiah Gibson, Samuel Smith, Nathaniel (Amanda) Smith, Herbie (Dionna) Smith, Jamie (Adam) Thomas, Wendy (Dennis) Walls, Tina (Greg) Crouse, Anthony Osborne, Kimberly (Chris) Gibson, Brittany (Theo) Cooper, Justin (Tiffany) Gibson, Patricia (Mark) Scites, Mary (Teddy) Thomas, Josh (Kayla) Osborne, Dennis (Brooke) Osborne, Sarah (Joe) Osborne, Jennifer (Eddie) Lilly, Dulcie Gibson, Crystal (Jason) Tolliver, Emmanuel (Megan) Gibson, Brandon (Ashley) Gibson, Cody (Madison) Gibson, Chasity (Brandon) Gibson, Ester (Josh) Goodwin, Braxton Gibson, and Charlie Gibson; 41 great-grandchildren and three on the way; and five nieces, Sue McCormick whose love and concern for Daisy was always appreciated, and Gladys, Evelyn, Joann, and Roxanne; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at God's Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church at Curtis with Rev. Denny Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Daniels Cemetery at Curtis.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall bearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
