Frank Eugene Burgess
of Mallory, WV
Frank Eugene Burgess, 71, of Mallory, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 17, 2015, leaving from the home of Ralph and Joyce Padgett, after a long illness.
He was born August 25, 1943, at Accoville, a son of the late Jesse James Vincent Burgess and Polly Ruth Ann Toler Burgess.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melvina Akers Burgess; two sisters, Lois Lundy and Mary Ann Burgess; and two brothers, William Carlos Burgess and Dennie Ray Burgess.
Frank retired from Ford Motor Company after 25 years of service. When he was able, he attended Curtis Missionary Baptist Church at Curtis. His favorite things were fishing, attending church, and playing with the grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Richard Eugene Burgess of Kistler; his friends with whom he made his home, Ralph and Joyce Padgett of Mallory; nine siblings, Nora Burgess of Sharples, Ozie (Marie) Burgess of Neibert, Russell (Janet) Burgess and Janice Gay Booth, both of Jeffrey; Larry (Patricia) Burgess and Roger (Rene) Burgess, both of Six Mile, Patty Ferguson of PA, Phyllis (Gregory) Tipton of Blair, and Millard (Kathy) Burgess of Beckley; six grandchildren who he claimed as his own, Carley, Danielle, Destiny, Emily, Mason, and Trent; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015, at the Monclo Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Lane and Rev. Danny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery at Kelly Hollow.
Visitation will be held from 6-11 p.m. Thursday at the Monclo Baptist Church and one hour prior to services also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
