Obituary of Dolen Trent

Please share a memory of Dolen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dolen Trent, of Greenville, departed this life on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, after a short illness. He was born April 28th, 1952, in Greenville, one of nineteen children of the late Dewey and Stella Trent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna (Meade) Trent; five brothers and nine sisters; four step-children, Ray Siffles, Ronnie Siffles, Misty Napier, and Kayla Clay. Dolen proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed going on four-wheeler rides with his family, taking in nature, and spending time with his loved ones. He had a great sense of humor; he loved to joke and have a good time. Dolen never met a stranger; he could talk to anyone and made friends wherever he went. He was kind-hearted and always willing to help anyone who needed it if he was able. Family meant everything to him; his favorite times were spent surrounded by them. He loved each of them dearly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Dewey Trent and Penny Duclos of Greenville, Davey Trent and his wife Lorene of Huntington; two grandchildren that were like his own, Scott Earnest, and Beth Earnest, both of Greenville; grandchildren, Asher Trent, Laveah Justice, Colten Trent, Julianna Trent, Daphne Hendricks, Brylie Dotson; great-grandchildren, Emma Earnest, Easton Earnest, Cain Ellis; two sisters, Saundra Cozart and Linda (Danny) Browning; and three brothers, Walter (Thelma “Bugs”) Trent, Doug (Lynndora) Trent, Marshall (JoAnn) Trent; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle and one hour prior to funeral services on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3rd, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Jody Rose officiating. Military Honors and Burial will follow in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made directly to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home to assist with final expenses. Online condolences can be made at krantzmcneelyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
