Robert Lowe, 65, of Accoville, a devoted father, proud grandfather, dedicated community servant, and cherished friend, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, December 7th, 2024. He was born on March 15th, 1959, in Man, the son of the late Lawyer and Margaret Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Smeester, and two brothers, Johnie and Andy Lowe, his nieces, Nikki and Annette. A 1977 graduate of Man High School, Robert was deeply rooted in the Buffalo Creek community, where his leadership and kindness touched countless lives. Robert dedicated over 30 years of his life to the coal mining industry as a proud United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) Local 2286 member. He retired from Hobet Mining, leaving a legacy of hard work, camaraderie, and unwavering dedication to his profession. Beyond his career, Robert was the fire chief of the Buffalo Creek Volunteer Fire Department, where he served selflessly, ensuring the safety and well-being of his neighbors. His commitment to helping others extended beyond his professional life into his everyday actions. Robert’s heart was with his family, who were the center of his world. He was a loving father to his two sons and a proud grandfather to his six grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride. His furbaby, Princess, was his constant companion and best friend, faithfully by his side in all of life’s moments. A man of many talents and passions, Robert found joy in gardening, growing an abundance of vegetables that he lovingly canned and shared with his community. His generosity and love for his neighbors were evident in every jar he gave away, a symbol of his care and connection to those around him. Those left to cherish his memories are 2 sons, Matt and Katie Lowe of Robinette, and Josh and Angel Lowe of Kistler, his six grandchildren, Abigail, Gracie, Trevor, Mattie, Noah, and Remi-Jo. A Sister, LouVerna and Roger Adkins of Lundale, a sister-in-law, Elenor Gay Lowe of KY, his beloved dog Princess, many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends, who will forever treasure his memory. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, at the Krantz McNeely Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
