Obituary of Fred Curtis Osborne, II
Please share a memory of Fred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Fred C. Osborne, II, 53, of Amherstdale, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2024, from CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV following a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Freddie was born on January 3, 1971, at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, OH. He is the son of the late Fred Osborne and Ellen Osborne of Davin, WV. He is the grandson of the late Clell and Molly Browning and the late Dewey and Minnie Osborne.
Freddie was a graduate of Man High School class of 1989. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served proudly. Following his time in the Marines, Freddie went on to work in the coal mining industry for 30 plus years where he performed a multitude of roles with his highest being section foreman. Freddie was a member of Bethel Tabernacle Church where he served proudly as a Sunday school superintendent and deacon. Freddie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting and fishing, and always looking for the next adventure. He loved to sing, dance, and bring a smile to the faces of everyone he met.
Freddie is survived by his mom, Ellen Osborne, his wife of 33 years, Michelle Doczi Osborne, and his two children, Emilee and Ross Osborne; His sister, Michelle Osborne (Jim) Grimmett, his nieces Courtney Grimmett (Tyler) Adkins and Kelly Grimmett (Cooper) Dixon, and great-nephews Ford and Shep Adkins and Miller Dixon; His mother-in-law, Ann Doczi, brother-in-law, James Doczi, niece Carlie (Alex) Epling, great-niece, Lainey Epling, and a host of family and friends are left to cherish his memory.
Freddie was a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. There is nothing that can compare to how much he loved his family. There is a void in our hearts, one that will never be filled; but there is peace in knowing Freddie is in Heaven, a place he worked so diligently to be. We are sure he is lighting up Heaven with his beautiful smile, and voice, just as he lit up all of our lives for his 53 years.

Honorary pallbearers: Kelly Sansom, Tim Sias, Everett Frazier, Dennis Bryant, Michael Langham, Anthony Clark, and Jim Ed Perry.
Military Honors will be provided by Wyoming County Honor Guard following service at the church.
Freddie was the kind of man that doesn’t come along often. He had the ability to make strangers feel like friends, friends feel like family, and family feel like God's gift to earth; although to us, Freddie was God’s gift to earth. To know him was to love him and everyone knew him. His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known him and loved him.
