Obituary of Johnny Jakey Clay

Johnny "Jakey" Clay of Man, WV Johnny "Jakey" Clay, 63, of Man, received his wings on Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital at Huntington, after a sudden illness. He was born on November 15, 1951, at Simon, the only son of the late John Riley Clay and Ora Mila Toler Clay. Johnny worked at several different coal mines as a shot fireman for 23 years. Then he went to work as a truck driver for Frank Rogers Trucking at Gilbert until he retired in 1998. Johnny was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an active member of the Brothers of the Wheel for 10 years. A registered organ donor, Johnny saved at least three lives with the heroic gift of his organs. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Sharon Clay of Man; one niece, Deborah (Keith) Durham of Logan; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and his Brothers of the Wheel family. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum at Pecks Mill with Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating.. Entombment will follow. Pall bearers will be members of the Brothers of the Wheel.
