Obituary of Stephen Cochrane
Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Ned Cochrane, a devoted husband father, provider, and friend, who left this world too soon on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Steve’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and unwavering dedication to his family, and those he held dear.
He was born August 11, 1971, in Man, the son of Millard and Sue Cochrane of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Millard and Garnet Cochrane, and his maternal grandparents Alvin and Athalene Lester.
Steve was a mine superintendent and Foreman for Alpha Natural Resources, formerly of Massey Coal for nearly 25 years. He found great joy in mining coal, and made a wealth of friends along the way. His greatest joy came on November 14th when he made the decision to be a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was immensely proud of his sons’ achievements.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Missy Cochrane of Man, His two sons, Erik Cochrane and Evan Cochrane both of Man. Sister Jean Ann and Harold McCoy of Greenville, two nephews, Jake and Lindsay McCoy and their children, Asa and Erin of Columbus, OH, and John and his fiance’ Allie with a baby boy to arrive in February. Along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends
