George Vance, 72, of Kistler formerly of Harts, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a long illness. He was born on July 15, 1952, at Harts, the son of the late Carlos and Eliza (Watts) Vance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Kathy (Mullins) Vance; one infant daughter; two sisters, Flora Dalton and Bessie Mullins; and three brothers-in-law, Orville Kinser, Brown Mullins, Eddie Workman. George dedicated over 23 years of his life serving the Lord. His testimony was, “I was saved by an old galvanized gate and one of these days I’m going to run through the Pearly Gates.” As a faithful member and Deacon of the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church, he touched countless lives with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith. His role as a Deacon was more than just a calling he embraced whole heartedly, serving his church community with a servants heart and a joyful spirit. He worked tirelessly as a coal miner, a job that demanded both strength and resilience. His hard work and dedication provided for his family, and he was admired by friends and co-workers alike for his integrity and diligence. Outside of work and church, George had a passion for fishing and camping, he could often be found in his favorite fishing spots at Cherokee Lake in TN enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. It was his way of connecting with God’s creation and sharing quiet moments with those he loved. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 23 years, Nioka (King) Vance; four sons, David and Tracie Vance, Carlos Vance, Jeff and April Vance, all of Harts and Ryan and Brittney Crum of Lundale; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Lee Vance, Makayla Vance, Paislee Vance, Adelynn Crum, Willow Crum, and Oaklynn Crum, Kerrigan Estep, Karlee Estep, and Kayson Estep; three sisters, Evelyn Kinser and Carry Vance, both of Peytona and Ruth Workman of Seth; one brother-in-law, Peter Dalton of Catlettsburg, KY; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rev. Bobby and Jennifer Adkins of Lorado; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
