Obituary of Larry Joe Johnston

Larry Joe Johnston, 66, of Beckley, Formerly of Man, WV, went to his heavenly home on Thursday August 29, 2024, at his residence surrounded by loved ones following an extended illness. Larry was born on April 22, 1958 in Man, WV to Delores (Robinson) and the late Ray Johnston. He was a 1976 Graduate of Man High School. In 1980 he graduated from Marshall University, and continued his education at West Virginia State graduating with a degree in Nuclear Medicine. He worked at Raleigh General Hospital as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for many years. Family was always a priority to Larry. He cherished spending quality time with his family and friends, making lasting memories. Traveling and going on adventures was one of his favorite things because he got to see new places and have new experiences. Those left to cherish his memories are his Mother Delores (Robinson) Johnston, of Beckley; one brother, Donald Ray Johnston, of Beckley; one nephew, Donald Courtney Johnston, of Logan; one niece, Elizabeth Lynn Hope (David) Adknis; two great nephews, Seth Ian Johnston, and Gage Issac Johnston; two nieces, Leah Hope Adkins, and Mia Faith Adkins; along with a host of other relatives, cousins, and friends. Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Remembrance Ceremony will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4th, 2024, at Krantz McNeely Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill. Pall bearers will be Courtney Johnston, David Adkins, J.R. Robinson, Jason Robinson, Steve Stanley, David Robinson, and Roger Bunch. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
