Obituary of Delsie Deloris (Wells) Maynard

Delsie Deloris (Wells) Maynard, 73, of Earling, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, leaving her earthly home after a long illness.
She was born on March 31, 1951, at Lyburn, the daughter of the late Marion William and Florence Jane Chapman Wells.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings: eleven brothers, Lester Wells, Alonzo “Bill” Wells, Wilson Wells, Ted “Frankie” Wells, James Wells, Buster Wells, Johnny Wells, Dennis Wells, Donald Ray Wells, Stanley Wells, and Coleman Wells; four sisters, Mae Blair, Marie Chambers, Brenda Kay White, and Sharon Wells.
Delsie was a wonderful Wife and a loving Mother and Grandmother. She was a devout Christian and a member of Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church for 46 years, where she led the choir, was a Mother of the Church, and was a former Children’s Sunday School Teacher. Delsie enjoyed her salvation and will long be remembered for her testimony and shouting. She was a light to all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of almost 53 years, Lanny “Larry” Maynard; four daughters, Janie Denise (Forrest, Jr.) White of Man, Eugenia (Raymond) Wooten of Amherstdale, Melissa (Rev. Jody) Brown of Accoville, and Deloris Caldwell of Martinsburg; two sons, Lanny (Sabrina) Maynard of Flemington, and Larry (Krissy) Maynard of Flowood, MS; 15 grandchildren, Marcus Amburgey, Olivia Amburgey, Meagan Browning, Chanda Browning, Jacob (Courtney) Brown, Jada (Cameran) Frye, Emma Maynard, LJ Maynard, Kyle Caldwell, Greg Caldwell, Kolten (Haley) Maynard, Anna Grace (Peter) Bethea, Madeline (Peyton) Sullivan, Jammie (Morgan) Adkins, and Raeann Wooten; 15 great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Noah, Laina, Freddie, Madi, Elijah, Kolten, Jordan, Jack, Luke, Abriella, Tyler, Jr., Ryan, Ava, and Nellie; a special niece who is like a daughter, Sue (Scotty) Ferrell and their two daughters, Brittany and Briana of Hewitt; a special niece, Pam Hatfield of Low Gap; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church at Lyburn, with Rev. Jody Brown and Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall bearers will be family.
