He worked his remaining years in the coal industry from Amherst to Arch Coal, giving many years of his time. After retiring, J.C. loved to work on old cars, garden, collecting coins, and his most favorite, was watching his grandkids play sports. He traveled many miles with Bridgett and the boys to watch them play baseball and basketball. The last few years of his life, he was blessed with a granddaughter, Callie, whom he saw daily and who had her Papel wrapped around her finger. This past December, JC was blessed again when his first great grandson, Dakota James, arrived, and boy, did he love him just like all the other kids.
