Obituary of Gaynell Rose

Please share a memory of Gaynell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gaynell Rose, 87, of Davin, WV, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2024, after a long illness. We can only imagine the joyous homecoming she is now experiencing! She was born on April 17, 1937, at Ash Camp, KY to the late Baxter and Martha Rose Bartley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Linda Rose and Cookie Rose, one great-granddaughter, Jaci Mangus, and three brothers, Chester, Elster, and Randall Bartley. Gaynell surrendered her life to the Lord in 1987 and served Him faithfully, holding several positions within the church. She attended Oceana and Greenville FWB Church until her illness. Gaynell loved the Lord, her family, and her church deeply. Known for her excellent cooking and beautiful home, she was a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed collecting dolls and pampering herself and others. Gaynell especially cherished her grandbabies, whom she spoiled immensely. She was the happiest when her house was full, with everyone eating and laughing together. Gaynell was hopelessly devoted to her sweetheart of sixty-eight years, Dewey. Anyone who saw them together could see the true love they shared. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband and best friend of sixty-eight years, Dewey Rose, two sons, Robert (Tudy) and Clarence (Jane Kennedy) of Oceana; three daughters, Peggy (Harold) Blankenship of Gastonia, NC, Martha (Ray) Goodman of Davin, WV, and Leah Rose of Dallas, NC. 12 grandchildren, Krista (Glenn) Strader of Eden, NC, Kerra Rose of Hardy, Va, Robert (Alison) Rose of Man, WV, Brandon Rose of Huntington, WV, Brian Rose of Davin, WV, Heather Rose of Beckley, WV, Jonathan (Kathleen) Blankenship of Concord, NC, Jared (Julie) Blankenship of Davidson, NC, Jessalyn (RJ) Lopez of Gastonia, NC, Zachary (Jade) Robinson of Huntington, WV, Kellyn (Thomas) Blair of Chapmanville, WV and James “Bubby” Dawson of Cook Ridge, WV. 18 great-grandchildren, Logan, Tanner, and Jett Mangus, Jenna, Laci, and Robert Rose, Shaina Newcomb, Kate, Keegan, Ellie, Jayden, Ashlynn, Harper, and Charleigh Blankenship, Isabella Lopez, Calvin Robinson, Connor and Chandler Blair, and Logan Dawson. She is also survived by one sister, Theda Jean Flemings of Jenkins, KY, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her loving and patient caregiver, Donna Sizemore. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Krantz McNeely Funeral Home in Man, WV.
