Obituary of Judy Grimmett-Wright

Judy Grimmett-Wright, 80, of Davin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at her residence after a short illness. She was born on June 4, 1943, at Bengal Hollow, the daughter of the late Ralph and Clara (Allen) Greene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Roy Larkin Grimmett; her second husband, James Wright, Jr.; her son, Ronnie Lee Grimmett; two brothers, Leonard Greene and Russell Greene; and four sisters, Helen Moffatt, Virginia Vance, Thelma Waters, and Juanita Cox. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was employed as a Kindergarten Teacher's Aid for 32 years, where she worked at Christian Grade School and then at Buffalo Grade School. She was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith. Her favorite activities were being with her babies and making the holidays special for all of the family. Judy will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Jim Grimmett and his wife Michelle of Davin and Rick Grimmett of Mallory; four grandchildren, Courtney Adkins and her husband Tyler of Cincinnati, OH, Taylor Duncan and her husband Brandon of Accoville, Kelly Dixon and her husband Cooper of Cincinnati, OH, and Erick Grimmett and his wife Reagan of McConnell; four great-grandchildren, Bo Duncan, John Crawford Adkins, Shepard James Adkins, and Jack Duncan; three sisters, Grace Lawson of Springfield, OH, Shirley McClure of Man, and Brenda Conley of Charleston, SC; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Chris Tipton and Sheila Justice and her special caregivers, Dennessa Whitman, Bonnie Staten, Susan Yacomino, and Karen Story, for their kindness, care, and compassion. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Lane and Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Pallbearers will be Erick Grimmett, Brandon Duncan, Tyler Adkins, Cooper Dixon, Wes Harvey, and Evan Mullins. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Mullins, Larry Mullins, Eddie Nelson, Nathan Harvey, and Kevin Tue.
