Thelma Jane Vance, 79, of Lorado, departed this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Cornerstone Speciality Hospital in Huntington, after an extended illness. She was born on July 9, 1944, at Amherstdale, the daughter of the late Charlie and Mildred Arlene (Chapman) Vance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray Vance; and one brother-in-law, Oliver Alan Hunt. Thelma Jane was a home maker. When she was younger, she enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She also enjoyed nature, walking and gardening when she was able. After her strokes she loved her TV watching crime shows and the Hallmark Channel. Those left to cherish her memory are one sister, Stella Hunt of Lorado; one brother, Calvin (Danita) Vance of Princeton; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. In honor of Thelma Jane’s wishes, she was privately buried in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
