Obituary of Anita Louise Mills

Anita Louise Mills, 74, of Lundale, departed this life on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a short illness. She was born on May 22, 1949, at Logan, the daughter of the late Grant and Betty Ruth (Ellis) Lawrence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Mills; and one brother, Andy Jack Lawrence; and her canine fur baby, Bear.. Anita was a 1967 graduate of Man High School. Through the years, she worked as a baby sitter, at the Logan Motor Lodge, and finally as a Customer Service Representative for the Hatfield and McCoy Trail Head at Rock House. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, NeNe, sister and friend. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, wrestling, and her soap operas. Anita loved being called NeNe by her grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Judy (Scottie) Bryant of Logan; one son, Wesley Mills of Lundale; sister, Diana (David) Wilbur of Midkiff; one sister-in-law, Jackie Lawrence of Lerona; two grandchildren, Cassie Staten and her fiancé Jason Maynard of Oceana and John (Sabrina) Staten of Fisherville, VA; three great-grandchildren, Lacey Jo Adkins, Audrey Blayke Blevins, and Jayley Maynard; several nieces and nephews along with a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services on Friday. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Pallbearers will be Wesley Mills, Scottie Bryant, John Staten, Jason Maynard, Rick Cresong; and C.E. Scott.
