Obituary of Loudima Mae Spaulding

Loudima Mae Spaulding, 84, of Madison Creek, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2024, leaving from CAMC-General Division after a long illness. She was born on March 19, 1939, at Madison Creek, the daughter of the late John Russell and Lena Mae (Daniels) Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Prentiss Spaulding; children, Michael Wade “Jabo” Spaulding and Carol Ann Perry; her grandson, Michael Bailey; her siblings, Gladys and Elzie Harless, Bernard and Maggie Maynard, Bill Maynard, Clarence Maynard, John Russell “Junior” and Tootsie Maynard, Berthel and Flora Mae Maynard, Charlie Maynard, Cletis and Patty Maynard, and Edith Maynard; her parents-in-law, Harrison and Vada (Webb) Spaulding, and her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Floretta Spaulding and Mose and Betty Wright. Loudima was a home maker, a wonderful mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She was the rock who kept her family together. Loudima loved the Lord, read her Bible, and walked in wisdom and beauty. When she was able she was a faithful member of the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church for many years. She was very independent, strong willed, firm but with a soft voice. She enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening. Loudima was God sent to her family who recognized the love and guidance she poured into them. She will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Kathy (Dave) Stapleton, Beatrice Spaulding, Barbara (Roger, Jr.) Caldwell, and Julie (Anthony) Stephens; two sons, Otis Spaulding II and Glenn Spaulding and his fiance Liz Mosley; grandchildren, Jennifer Spaulding and her companion Harley Gibson and their son Colton; Roger Spaulding; Carolyn and Dewey Baldwin and their children, Karen, Madison, and Brody; Melissa and Luke Corns and their children Jackson and Hudson; Robert Caldwell and his fiancé Breona Childress and his children, Serenity and June; Katelyn and Jake Evans and their son Xavier; Michael and Jessica Spaulding and their sons, Seth and Easton; Otis and Elisha Spaulding and their children, Kyla, Kayleigh, Karleigh, Otis IV, and Axel; Neil and Sarah Mullins and their children, Ella, Reagan, Sawyer and one on the way; Staci Spaulding and her companion Christopher Grimmett and their children Virginia, Kiersten, Alexis, Zack, Cody, and Janice; Christina Frye and her companion David Dillon and their children, Jeremy Chambers and Skylar Dillon and her son Colson; Jules Burgess; David Stapleton II and his wife Marissa and their children, Braelyn Stapleton, Selene Napper, Alek Napper, and Riley Morgan; Jamie Nicole Stapleton; Paige Maynard; Christi Layne and her children Connor and Trinity; Eric Chambers; and Jessica Chambers; Loudima’s brother-in-law, Harrison and Charlene Spaulding; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man, with Rev. Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Loudima & Prentiss Family Cemetery at Madison Creek.
