Alisha Kay Mentz
of South Point, OH formerly of Taplin, WV
Alisha Kay Mentz, 42, of South Point, OH, formerly of Taplin, WV, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, at Ohio University Medical Center, after a long illness.
She was born on December 28th, 1981, the daughter of the Rev. Roger D. and Patricia Kay (Wells) Sizemore of Taplin, WV.
Alisha was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents, Rev. Wilbur and Etha Mae Wells and her Paternal Grandparents, Frank and Minerva Sizemore.
She was a 2000 graduate of Man High School. For many years, Alisha worked in the retail and restaurant industry. She was of the Baptist faith. A talented crafter with her Cricket, Alisha made beautiful insulated cups, shirts, and decals. She was an avid reader who enjoyed camping, hiking, cooking outdoors, and decorating for holidays. Alisha loved watching Lifetime movies and talking on the phone.
Those left to cherish her memory are the love of her life for seven years her husband, Julian Denver “J.D.” Mentz; two brothers, Roger A. Sizemore of Taplin, WV and Sheldon Sizemore and his wife Dee of Hewell, WV; two step-children, Austin Mentz of South Point, OH and Chelsea Bowen and her husband Chris of Ashland, KY; four loving Aunts, Carol Evans and her husband Landrum, Linda Leese and her husband George, Marilyn “Anney” Cobb and her husband David, and Anita Stapleton and her husband Colen; her loving Uncle, Sheldon Wells and his wife Margaret;
and many cousins along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
A Celebration of Alisha’s Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024 with Speaker Sheldon Wells officiating.
In honor of Alisha’s wishes her remains will be cremated after the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, 115 Market St.-Man, WV 25635 Phone: 304-583-6582 to help with funeral expenses.
