Obituary of Donna Marlene McDonald

Donna Marlene Ellis McDonald, 57, of Kistler, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 25, 2023, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a short illness. She was born on May 3, 1966, at Man, the daughter of the late Bobby and Elizabeth Mary (Ward) Ellis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Joe Ellis; her step-mom, Geneva “Boogie” Ellis; and two nephews, Travis Ellis and Matthew Walker. Marlene loved people and had a heart of gold. She was generous and free hearted. Marlene loved everybody. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Britton Ellis and Kyle McDonald, both of Kistler; her beloved sister, Lynn (Rev. Harold) Ellis of Accoville; her step-brother, James “Bub” Walker of Accoville; her Aunts and Uncle, Liddie and Rev. Russell McCoy of Jonesville, VA and Bertie Ellis of Landville; and special nephews, BJ and Stacy Ellis and their children, Jaylen and Callie, Garland and Tiffany Collins, and Tommy Ward; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Russell McCoy officiating. In honor of Marlene’s wishes her remains will be cremated.
