Obituary of Gregory James Atkins

Gregory James Atkins, 44, of Beckley formerly of Buffalo Creek, departed this life unexpectedly on Monday, December 18, 2023, at his home. He was born on July 17, 1979, the son of Annette Morris Atkins of Robinette and the late James Gregory Atkins. He was legally adopted and raised from the age of 8 by the late Raymond Hatfield and the late Dorothy (Roberts) Hatfield Kilgore Curtis. In addition to his biological father and his adoptive parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Stacy (Blevins) Atkins who passed away on August 8, 2023. Greg was a 1997 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, he became a self employed carpenter. Greg enjoyed riding dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, and side by sides. He also enjoyed playing on the Play Station. Greg loved his 10 year old daughter Charlee who was the light of his life and his adult daughter Abby along with the rest of his family. Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Abby Atkins and her fiancé Steven Cresong of Accoville and Charlee Atkins at home; one grandson, Lennox Cresong of Accoville; his biological mother, Annette Morris Atkins of Robinette; two sisters, Misty Chapman and her husband John of Kistler and Sasha Steele Dial and her husband Curry of West Hamlin; one brother, Reuben Midkiff of Beckley; and four nephews, Zachary and Justin Chapman and Greyson and Maverick Dial along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating.
