Obituary of Raymond Leonard Sharp

Raymond Leonard Sharp, 78, of Kistler, departed this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Genesis Healthcare after a long illness. He was born on October 13, 1945, at Kistler, the son of the late Orville and Ola Mae (Bryant) Sharp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville Sharp, Jr. and Leroy Sharp, Sr. Raymond, a 1965 Man High School graduate, excelled in basketball and baseball as a pitcher. He worked as a Town of Man policeman before moving to Maryland. Raymond worked and retired from the security force at George Washington University in Washington, DC. His favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was a loving brother and uncle who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are three sisters, Octavia Binder of Kistler, Frances Sanders of Chesterfield, VA, and Shirley Allen of Kistler; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. In honor of Raymond’s wishes, his remains have been cremated, and there will be no services.
