Madeline Clay Curry
of Davin, WV
Madeline Clay Curry, 81, of Davin, went home to be with the Lord July 7, 2015, from Logan Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 17, 1934, at Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Rev. Samuel Tilden and Millie McCoy Clay.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Robert Cecil "Bob" Curry; two brothers, Archie and Eugene Clay; one sister, Maxine Clay; one step-son, Robert Cecil "Butch" Curry, Jr.; two step-daughters, Kaye and Mary Ann Curry.
Madeline was a nurse aide and physical therapist aide who retired from Man ARH with 35 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a past worthy matron. A Christian woman of great faith, she was a member of Greenbranch Free Will Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Dianna (Monty) Miller of Davin; two brothers, Rev. Freddie (Patsy) Clay of Crown and Rev. Argie Clay of Columbus, OH; five sisters, Imogene Baker of Logan, Doris Jean (Frank) Merritt of Lincoln County, Bonnie Donnelly of Accoville, Anna Gay Compton of Columbus, OH, and Linda (David) Wingler of Lorado; two grandchildren, Randall Miller of Christian and Gerime Miller of McConnell; three great-grandchildren, Zak and Sky Miller, both of Logan and Scarlett Star Miller of McConnell; two special sisters-in-law, Doris Reedy of Combs Addition and Yvonne Clay of Crown; one step-son, Donny Curry of Fort Myers, FL; special friends, Margaret Gunnells and June Brumfield; many nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A special thanks to Dignity Hospice Staff and Dr. Kathy Harvey and Logan Regional Staff and Dr. Rob Long for their love, care, and comfort.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 10, at the Greenbranch Free Will Baptist Church at Man with Rev. Mike Johnson and Brother Robert Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the church where an Order of the Eastern Star Ceremony will be preformed at 7:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pall bearers will be Randy Dye, Charles Brumfield, Jimmy Williams, Ray Meade, Ernest Cline, and Junior Willis.
