Obituary of Suzanne Walker

Suzanne Walker Of South Man, WV Suzanne Walker, 74, of South Man, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, leaving from St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington, after a short illness. She was born on October 23, 1948, at Accoville, the daughter of the late James Everett and Minnie Dell (Abrams) Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy Walker and James Earl Walker. Suzanne was a 1966 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, she attended Marshall University where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1969. Suzanne earned her Masters Degree in Education from Marshall University in 1999. She taught K through 12 for 38 years for the Logan County Board of Education. Her greatest passion in life was teaching where she touched many young lives. She was a faithful member of Big Spring Missionary Baptist Church at Mallory. Her greatest loves were the Lord and her son Jamie. Suzanne quilted and crocheted; she took immense pride in the baby afghans she crocheted. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jamie Brunty of Man; two sisters, Dorothy Walker Caserta and her husband Richard of Logan and Patricia Louise Hilbert and her husband Bill of Louisville, KY; one brother, George Everett Walker and his wife Gennia of Washington state; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Perry Brown officiating. In honor of Suzanne’s wishes her remains will be cremated after the funeral services.
