Obituary of Stacy Kay Atkins

Please share a memory of Stacy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Stacy Kay Atkins (Blevins) of Beckley, formerly of Accoville, departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023. Born April 29, 1983, in Man, WV, she was the daughter of the late Kristina (Frye) and Ricky Dale Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Frye, who raised her with his wife (Kay), paternal grandparents Earl and Margie Blevins, and her Mother-in-law, Dorothy Curtis (Rev. Glen). Stacy is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Gregory James Atkins, who loved her more than his own self, and the sunshine and joy of her life, her daughter, Charlee LeaDale. Along with her husband and daughter, she is survived by her maternal grandmother who raised her, Kay Frye-Williams (Sam), her sister, Kelly Frye-Valerio (Carlos), their children Gabriel, Israel, Immanual, and Evangeline, who all loved Stacy Kay dearly and called her "Sissy," her nephew, Reuben Midkiff, whom she and Greg raised as their son, and step-daughter Abby Atkins that Stacy loved as her own, two of her best friends, Susan Richmond and Becky Meade, who was like a sister, a dear friend, Mary Gail Dixon, and a host of other family and close friends. Stacy Kay had a loving, giving, and bold personality, and she lived her life with unconditional love and grace for her family. She was full of life, friendly, outgoing, and never met a stranger. Stacy Kay was gifted with a kind nature guaranteeing a full heart and contagious laughter to all in her presence. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, molly mooching, traveling, and loved her animals as family. She cared for animals so much that she tried to rescue and save any animal that appeared misplaced or in need of help, especially turtles on the road. Stacy Kay grew up in Becco United Baptist Church and always considered it her home church. She and Greg had recently become members of Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church (Beckley). A 2001 graduate of Man High School, Stacy Kay continued her education, obtaining certifications in Phlebotomy, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Nail Technician. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly, among many other jobs. The family will gather with friends and neighbors at 11:00 am on Friday, August 18th, 2023, at Becco United Baptist Church at Amherstdale. A worship celebration of Stacy Kay's life will follow at 1:00 pm at Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating.
