Larry Dale “Oouchie” Spence
of Stowe, WV
Larry Dale Spence, 63, of Stowe, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 11, 1959, at Man, the son of Zola Yvonne (Adkins) Spence of Robinette and the late Charlie Fred Spence.
In addition to his father, Oouchie was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Dale Spence.
Oouchie was a retired employee of the WV Department of Highways. He enjoyed Hillbilly Football and eating breakfast with the “Liars Club” at Cliffside. Oouchie also enjoyed caring for his cats: Sebastian; Salt; and Little Girl. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He was an all around good person and never met a stranger. To know him was to love him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Carolyn Sue Spence; one daughter, Tera Renee Ross of Stowe; one son, Jeremy Shawn (Kimmie) Ross of Stowe; three grandchildren, Draven Ross, Austin Evans, and Emmie Ross; his mother, Zola Spence of Robinette; one sister, Yvonne Stacy and her fiancé Alby Mills of Yolyn; nieces, Ashton Conley and her fiancé Michael Bailey of Accoville, Terri (Nick) Adkins of Mallory, Candi Adkins of Lundale, and Amanda (Larry) Baisden of Robinette; great-niece, Charleigh Jo Conley; his mother-in-law, Barbara Barker of Stowe; sister-in-law, Sherry (Eddie) O’Neil of Latrobe; brother-in-law, Carlos Barker of Myrtle Beach, SC; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church at Lundale and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
