Obituary of Paula Denise Griffin

Paula Denise Brown Griffin, 66, of Davin, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 19th, 2023, following a short battle with cancer. She was born on February 16th, 1957, at Logan General Hospital at Logan, the daughter of the late Oscar Frank and Maxine (Frye) Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kenten Griffin; and a special niece, Nora Dawn Blankenship Greene. Paula was a 1975 graduate of Man High School. She then went on to obtain her certification as a cosmetologist, and owned and operated her own salon. She was of the Methodist faith and attended Claypool United Methodist Church when she was able. Paula will be remembered for her kind heart and love of family. She was a devoted mother, sister, and friend. Paula enjoyed sewing and quilting, cooking, journaling, and photo/scrapbooking. Before her health declined, she was always making quilts for her family members and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Larry Kenten Griffin II; step-son, Jason Griffin; one brother, Frank Douglas Brown of Davin, three sisters, Nora Yvonne (James) Blankenship of Man, Donna “Hickey” Murphy of Davin, and Deborah Davis of Daytona Beach Shores, FL; along with a host of other relatives and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery at Branchland.
