Obituary of Roy David Vernatter

Roy David “Prisoner” Vernatter, 63, went home to be with the Lord on June 02, 2023, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, after a long illness. He was born on June 27, 1959 in Man, the son of the late Roy and Mildred May (McGuire) Vernatter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Kilgore. David was a disabled Mechanic. Some of his favorite past-times are hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and family. Those left to cherish his memory are two children, David Samson Vernatter of Ripley and Dorothy “Dottie” Ferrell of Crown; a special daughter of the heart, Amber (Jeremy) Vance of Robinette; three grandchildren, David Christian Vernatter, Colton Chapman, and Connor Chapman; one granddaughter of the heart, Hailey Vance; three sisters, Becky (Mark) Schultz of Robinette, Pearl (John) Short of Mallory, and Lynn (Billy) Clay of Man; brother-in-law, Kenneth Kilgore; nieces and nephews, Whitney (Mike) Wright, Samantha (Davey) Collins, Natasha (Nathan Williams) Copley, P.J. (Kristie Richards) Ferrell, Zach (Julianne) Short, Andi (Tommy) Compton, and Angel (Coty Billings) Kilgore; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. In honor of David’s wishes, his remains will be cremated after the visitation.
