Lillian L. Hurley
of Man, WV
Lillian L. Hurley, 97, of Man, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at her residence, after a long illness.
She was born on September 11, 1925, at Ramage, the daughter of the late Kelly and Callie (McCormick) Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elester Hurley; three brothers, Dennis, Emmett “Chick”, and Leo Blankenship; and three sisters, Thelma Muncy, Freda Maynard, and Betty Crabtree.
Lillian was a part of the greatest generation. She was a strong, loving, gentle soul. Lillian was a loyal member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church as well as a member of the Ladies Aide. One of her greatest joys was singing in church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Glen (Gail) Hurley of Scott Depot, Terri (Gilman) Burgess of Man, and Phyllis Sides of Mint Hill, NC; five grandchildren, Jeff Hurley of Teays Valley, Lauren (Josh) Stafford of Man, Erin (Cavon) Vagheei of St. Albans, Christopher Sides of Carrboro, NC, and Michael Sides of Mint Hill, NC; four great-grandchildren, Alexandra Hurley, Layla Stafford, Porter Stafford, and baby boy Vagheei due to arrive in July of 2023; and special nieces and nephews along with special friends.
A celebration of Lillian’s life will begin at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Jonas Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hurley, Christopher Sides, Michael Sides, Josh Stafford, Cavon Vagheei, and Steven Wolfe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Dignity Hospice, 557 Main Street, Chapmanville, WV 25508.
