Donna Jean Williams
of Lyburn, WV
Donna Jean Ryan Williams, 76, of Lyburn, departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2015, from her residence, after a long illness.
She was born on August 9, 1938, at Earling, the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Polly Jane Carter Ryan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, John and Inez Rakes Williams; and her brother-in-law, Charles Hunter.
Donna Jean was a member of the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church for 60 years where she took great joy in working for the Lord through her church. She was a home maker who loved caring for her family. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Donna Jean was an inspiration to all who knew her. A lady with a heart of gold, she would help anyone in need. Although a quiet woman, Donna Jean taught us to always find the good in any situation and that a good laugh would fix almost anything. Her laugh was contagious.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Lawrence Williams; one daughter, Duwanna (Mike) Sorrell of Kistler; one son, Kenneth (Kathy) Williams of Man; one sister, Carolyn Hunter of Neibert; one brother, James Allen (Judy) Ryan of Madison Creek; five grandchildren, T.J. Mullins of Kistler, Kenneth R. (Katrina) Williams, II of Chapmanville, Kristopher J. (Amy) Williams of Ona, Anthony D. (Lindsey) Stollings of Logan, and Amy (Britt) Trent of Elk Creek; six great-grandchildren, Michael Sorrell, Xander Mullins, Kaleb Mullins, Karlie Williams, Aubree Williams, and Olivia Trent; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Alfred "Butch" Cobb and Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
