Obituary of Jennifer Starr Davis (Corns)
Please share a memory of Jennifer to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jennifer Starr Corns Davis, 74, of Davin, WV, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, September 12, 2022. She was born January 25, 1948 to the late William Bernard and Mercedes Bailey Corns.
In addition to Jennifer’s parents, she was proceeded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Anderson and Edna Davis, her grandparents, her youngest brother Gregory Corns, and several aunts and uncles.
Jennifer was a child of God and a faithful and active member of Claypool United Methodist Church. She was the teacher of the Mighty Minis, a member of the choir, served on various committees, and was the co-creator of numerous beautiful props for Vacation Bible School.
A 1965 graduate of Man High School, Jennifer was a member of the band and a majorette. She was a long-time employee of Man Appalachian Regional Hospital from which she retired upon its closure. Jennifer was also a Girl Scout leader.
At the young age of 13 ½ years Jennifer laid claims on a handsome young man who became the love of her life. She and Orval were married on June 26,1965. Their love for one another was pure, deep, and obvious to all who know them. They are the proud parents of Steven Davis and his wife, Lynn, and Nicole Gwinn and her husband, Kevin. They were blessed with three grandchildren who were the apples of her eye, Steven Caleb Davis, Abigail Starr Gwinn, and Meredith Kay Gwinn. They are lovingly and respectively known as her king, star, and heart.
Jennifer’s loving siblings are David and Glenna Corns, Lenny and Cathy Corns, Gary Lee and Wendy Corns, Angel and David Bodnar, and Timmy and Jackie Corns. She was an aunt to many nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly. Additionally, Jennifer is survived by her brother-in-law Oscar Davis, aunts Betty Lou Evans and Vodis Cook, and an uncle, Leroy Bailey.
A fun-loving woman with a larger-than-life personality, Jennifer will be remembered for her love of flowers and red lipstick, decorating for Christmas, and scaring trick-or-treaters. More importantly, she will be remembered for the love she had for her Lord and her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 6:00-9:00 pm at Claypool United Methodist Church. The celebration of her life will take place on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 1:00pm at the church with Rev. Tim Shuff and Rev. PJ Tomblin officiating.
