Alta “Jane” Fowler Grimmette of Bruno, WV Alta “Jane” Fowler Grimmette, 88, of Bruno, beloved wife for 66 years of James A. Grimmette, departed this life on July 29, 2022, from Genesis Logan Rehabilitation Center. Jane was born on September 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle (Baldwin) Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Robinette and Betty Grimmett; and three brothers-in-law, Herbert “Peanut” Grimmette, and David and Michael Stephens. Jane was a retired school teacher for the Logan County Board of Education where she taught at both Christian Grade and South Man Grade Schools. She graduated from Man High School and Marshall University. Prior to her extended illness, Jane attended Sunday School at Bruno Church of God, was an active member of the Hemlock Hills Garden Club, START, and the Red Hats. Jane enjoyed reading, doing Word Search, and decorating for special occasions. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James A. Grimmette; two sisters, Wanda Grimmette and Nadine (Buddy Mason) Blankenship, both of Hunt; sisters-in-law, Edith Cox of Taplin, Brenda (Charlie) Williamson, and Sue Grimmette, all of Bruno; brothers-in-law, Tracy Grimmette, Teddy Robinette, and Donald (Sandy) Grimmett, both of NC, Larry (Carolyn) Grimmette of OH, and Dickie (Charlene) Stephens of Mallory; and several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family wishes to convey their thanks to several people who assisted Jane during her illness: Bernie Osborne, Donna Sizemore, Carolyn Grimmette, Carol Trent, Sue Grimmette, Homer Blankenship, and Brenda and Charlie Williamson. Special appreciation is extended to Frank and Elaine Thompson for their friendship and calls during this time. Lou Arnold was also a special friend. A one day service will be conducted on August 4, 2022, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Sheldon Wells, Willard Spence, Homer Blankenship, and Roger White.
