Obituary of Darlene Elizabeth Morgan

Please share a memory of Darlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Darlene Elizabeth Morgan of Emmett, WV Darlene Elizabeth Morgan, 70, of Emmett, departed this life on Earth to meet her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Darlene fought a 17 month courageous battle against lung cancer. She was born on May 6, 1952, at Welch Community Hospital, the daughter of the late William and Ruby Jackson formerly of Fanrock. Darlene was a life-long Christian and was a member of the old Elk Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Darlene never met a stranger; she talked to everyone, prayed for everyone, and always gave hugs to everybody. She enjoyed her hummingbirds, backyard wildlife, flower gardens, 4-wheeling, and ginsenging with her husband. She will be greatly missed by her family who adored her with all their hearts. Those left to treasure her memory are her husband of 54 years, Jerry Morgan; her children, Melissa (Kenneth) Estepp of Delbarton, Rebecca Morgan of Scottsburg, IN, and Jerry (Cari) Morgan of Fairmont; her grandchildren, Kendra Darlene Estepp of Delbarton, Sarah, Katherin, and Isabella Black, all of Louisville, KY, and Camryn and Jakson Morgan, both of Fairmont; her brother, William “Sonny” Jackson and his wife Rosemary of Skin Fork; her two brother-in-laws, Ulbert Morgan of Man and Donald Morgan of Emmett. She is also survived by a special great-nephew, Darry (Barbie) Grimmett and their children, Hunter, Katie, Connor, and Lynn Grimmett, all of Man and a special neighbor and friend, Violet Cline of Emmett along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Waris and his staff, Logan Regional Medical Center’s Infusion Center, the physicians and their exceptional nursing staff at Logan Regional Medical Center, UMWA case worker and friend Marcella Lester, and Dr. Marzouk for their kind and compassionate care. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Tilly Walls officiating. Burial will follow at the Elk Creek Communtiy Cemetery at Emmett. Darlene will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.
