Obituary of Barbara Ann Spears

Barbara Ann Spears of, WV Barbara Ann Spears, 85, of Robinette, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. She was born August 15, 1936, at Becco, to the late Clifford and Martha Walker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Spears, her brother David Walker, and her step-mother Irene Walker. Barbara was a home maker who loved to cook huge holiday meals for her family, her specialty was homemade candy. She was well known for her legendary yard sales and she never passed up anyone else’s. Barbara had a talent for toll painting and crafted many decorated wood carvings. She enjoyed The Red Hats, START, and loved attending her church, Becco United Baptist, until she was unable to do so. She loved her family and was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory as her four daughters and their husbands (whom she loved as sons): Vickie and Terry “Bubby” Adkins of Robinette, Paula and Johnny Doss of Amherstdale, Terri and George “Eddie” Plumley of Accoville, and Jeana and Sammy Browning of Mallory; six grandchildren; Misty (James) Fields, Jason (Brittany) Plumley, Lori (Chris) Mays, Steven Plumley and his girlfriend Pam, B.J. (Kristi) Adkins, and Emily Browning; along with her great-grandchildren Cloe Doss and her fiancé Chris Watson, Jaxon Doss, Drew Fields, Gary Plumley, Logen Plumley, Connor Plumley, Sydney Plumley, and Andi Adkins; one sister Jerri Walker of Chicago, IL. Barbara had many close friends, including Janet Blevins Chapman and Garnet Triplett, neighbors and other family members that will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. P.J. Tomblin and Rev. Bill Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. In accordance with COVID guidelines, the family respectfully requests that visitors please wear masks to keep the community safe.
