Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Stanley “Red” Morris of Robinette, WV James Stanley “Red” Morris, 83, of Robinette, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 5, 2022, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 27, 1938, at Rum Creek, the son of the late Bill and Ruth (Jarrell) Morris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Joe Morris; one sister, Joann Taylor; grandson, Christopher Jacobs; two sons-in-law, Carl “Mickey” Tomblin and David Cantrell; his parents-in-law, Harvey and Edna Ruth Pierson; brothers-in-law, Paul and Lyndon Pierson; and mother of his children, Ella Jean Walls. Red was a coal miner for over 40 years, retiring from Madison Branch Management. He was a member of UMWA District 17 and he also worked in construction for awhile. Red never met a stranger and had a gift for making those he met friends. He had a loud and vivacious personality and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a Christian and loved to talk about Jesus to anyone that wanted to hear. Red was a member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church and loved going to church when he was able. He was well-known in the community and around the state; we could basically travel anywhere and Red would run into people he knew. Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life that he married on July 10, 1987, Diana (Pierson) Morris; five daughters, Peggy (Sam) Prince, Tammy Jacobs, Robin Cantrell, Annette Atkins, and Tina (Tommy) Mullins; two sons, James “Bubby” Morris and Bruce Morris; three sisters, Linda Kay Hook, Janet Ruszkowski, and Tonya Morris; one special niece, Kelli Harris; two brothers-in-law, Harvey (Alice) Pierson and Fred (Tammy) Pierson; sisters-in-law, Drema (George) Baldridge and Linda Pierson; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
