Everett “Poochie” Gibson, Jr.
Of Mallory, WV
Everett “Poochie” Gibson, Jr., 73, of Mallory, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, January 23, 2022, leaving from CAMC-General Division, after a sudden illness.
He was born July 27, 1948 in Accoville, the son of the late Everett Sr. and Freda Alene (Burton) Gibson.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his uncles, Willard Burton, Jr. and Farris Burton, Sr.; brothers, Carlos, Freddie, Ralph, Ronnie, and Ricky Gibson; sisters, Lou Ellis and Sue Rankin.
Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life his wife, Judy Gibson; son, Greg (Rachel) Gibson of Huntington; daughter, Katrina (Neal) Gent of Man; grandchildren, Tia (Corey) Castle, Austin Gent, Ashley Gibson, and Blake Gibson; great grandchildren, Annistyn and Chance Castle; sisters-in-law, Linda Gibson, Tammy Gibson and Rose Slack; many cousins, nieces, and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Gibson was a 1967 graduate of Man High School and a big supporter of the Man Hillbillies.
He was a member of the Accoville United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee, Church Council Chairperson, and PPR (Pastor, Parish Relations) Chairperson.
Funeral Services will be begin at 1:00 Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Sharlene Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family requests masks be worn at the services to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
