Lucille “Lucy” Bailey of Milton, formerly of Accoville, WV Lucille “Lucy” Bailey, 72, of Milton, formerly of Accoville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, leaving suddenly from Curtis. She was born on July 5, 1949, at Curtis, the daughter of the late Ernest and Esther (Osborne) Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jason Bailey; and two brothers, Ernest Thomas, Jr. and James “Timmy” Thomas. Lucy was wonderful mother and mother-in-law and if she was your friend she was your friend for life. She had a large family and many friends. Lucy spent many hours watching and feeding the deer at her daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Tim’s house. She was a very private person and enjoyed staying at home where she listened to gospel music and played games on her Ipad. After moving to Milton, Lucy adopted Sheila and Tim’s cat Rugg who she loved dearly. Lucy will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sheila and Tim Cart of Milton with whom she made her home, Melissa and James Nelson of Accoville, and Rev. Alan and Susie Bailey of Robinette; three grandchildren, William Scott Bailey, Kimberly Bailey, and Rebecca and Mike Crosby, two great-grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Crosby; and a host of others who refer to her as mawmaw; three sisters, Lois Goodwin of Seth, Vickie Toler of Davin, and Barbara Bailey and her husband Warren of Curtis; one brother, Rev. Danny Ray Thomas and his wife Greta of Curtis; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Monday evening at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. She will be lovingly laid to rest in Daniels Cemetery at Curtis.
