William Hubert “Willie” Sammons
of Amherstdale, WV
William Hubert “Willie” Sammons, 57, of Amherstdale, departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, leaving from his residence, after a long illness.
He was born on February 26, 1964, at Iaeger, the son of the late Jack and Doris Madaline (Dotson) Sammons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cassandra Gayle Wilson Sammons.
Willie was a disabled coal truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and ginsenging. Willie loved spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and his daughter.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Violet Sammons; one daughter, Sabona Maynard and her husband Bobby of Accoville; two sisters, Lisa Lester and her husband Joe of Justice and Shelby Leoning and her husband John of Beckley; two brothers, Jackie Sammons of Clear Fork and Bobby Jerome Sammons of Horsepen; five grandchildren, William “Bub” Wilson, Bobby Maynard IV, Michael Adkins, Kiara Maynard, and Christopher Maynard; and special nephew, Jimmy Trent of Beckley; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Angela and Freddy Adkins of SC, Vickie and Randy Booth of Lyburn, and Regina and Leo Perry of Chapmanville; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Keith Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
