Obituary of Emory R. Brewer

Emory Ricky Brewer, 94, of Robinette, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 18, 2021, leaving from his residence, after an extended illness. He was born on June 28, 1927, at Kermit, the son of the late Roy Howard and Mary (Marcum) Brewer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katherine (Hutchinson) Brewer who he married in 1949; four sisters, Grace Johnson, Deloris Williamson, Nellie Clark, and Lucille Hackey; four brothers, Sanford Brewer, Charles E. Brewer, Roy Brewer, and an infant brother William Brewer. Emory was a coal miner for 44.5 years who retired from Island Creek Coal Company. He was a member of the UMWA District 17. He was a faithful Christian for 16 years who loved the Lord and going to church. Emory was a member of the Crown Freewill Baptist Church which he loved. Emory was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He worked hard to provide for his family who he loved with all of his heart. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and squirrel hunting. Those left to cherish his memory are two children, Suzie Heflin and her husband John and Timothy Brewer, all of Robinette; three sisters, Anna Mae Sartin Wellman of Kermit, Ruth and her husband Gene Marlow of New Braunfels, TX, and Donita Brewer of Columbus, OH, and a half-sister Amanda Grimmer Stroud of Lake City, FL; three brothers, Dewey Brewer of Atwater, OH, Euell Brewer of Columbus, OH, and James Ira and his wife Ruth Brewer of OH; two grandchildren, John Heflin, Jr. and Shaun Heflin, both of Robinette; along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends. The family would like to thank all of the family, his Pastor Charles Vance, church members, and friends who showed their compassion and love by helping care for Emory. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Charles Vance. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home also. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be sent to Crown Freewill Baptist Church, P.O.
