Obituary of Claude Edward Hoosier

Claude Edward Hoosier of Lorado, WV Claude Edward Hoosier, 79, of Lorado, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 7, 2021, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness. He was born on August 11, 1942, in Lincoln County, the son of the late Herbert and Ella Mae Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Joan “Bobbie Jo” Hoosier who left for Heaven on January 22, 2021, one son, Herbert Thomas Hoosier; four sisters, Edith Maynard, Dory Burgess, Shirley Gibson, and Mary Ellen Grimmett; and two brothers, Arthur Ray Hoosier and Terry Kenneth Hoosier. Claude was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was a faithful member of Crown Freewill Baptist Church where he played guitar. Claude was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed painting, wood carving especially of animals, and wood working. One of his paintings hangs in an art gallery in Illinois and a mural he painted still adorns the wall of Lundale Freewill Baptist Church. Claude and his son Ed have made over 200 church pews through out the years that are still in use at several West Virginia churches. Claude also built scale replicas of ships from old pictures that people sent him. Those left to cherish his memory are two children, Michele Hoosier-Endicott of Lorado and Claude Edward “Ed” Hoosier and the love of his life Brandy of Lorado; three grandchildren, Gabrielle and her husband Jordan Endicott of Madison Creek, Janet Perry and her fiancé Zack Donnally of Kenova, and Darian Tate Hoosier of Lorado; one great-grandson, Richter Endicott of Madison Creek; two step-great-granddaughters, Iris and Theia Gwinn of Madison Creek; two sisters, Charlotte Gibson and her husband Scotty of IL and Janet Clark of New Haven, WV; and one brother, Billy Paul Hoosier and his wife Margie of Stewart, VA; his best friend, Ernie Hoosier of Lorado; many nieces and nephews along with his Crown Freewill Baptist Church family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Charles Vance officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home also. In honor of Claude's wishes his remains have been cremated.
