Leonard Lewis “Buddy” Ellis Jr., 79 of Greenville joined his wife, when he went to meet the master in his heavenly home, on Saturday, May 8th 2021 leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long courageous battle with Lung Cancer. He was born, in his mothers bed, on April 8, 1942, in Greenville, a son of the late Leonard and Vicie Ellis.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, who was the love of his life, Patricia Sue Ellis, Daughter Doreen Ann Donahue, Brother Thurman Ellis and Sister Anna Jean Porter.
Buddy graduated high school in 1960 and soon after married the love of his life, Patricia. He worked as a coal miner for 25 years for Amherst Coal Company. He was also a proud member of the Man High School Athletic Hall of Fame. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, boating and gardening. Devoted to his family and neighbors, he especially loved helping those in need. He had a brilliant mind and was a hard worker. Buddy lived his life with lessons taught to him from his mother, although he probably never knew it when he was younger God was always guiding him.
“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
