Obituary of Karen Joette Curry

Karen Joette Curry of Man, WV Karen Joette Curry, 73, of Man, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2021, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness. She was born on December 7, 1947, at Logan, the daughter of the late Warnie Cyrus and Ethel (Esque) Grimmett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Lou Wisecup. Karen was a beautician and nurse’s Aide at Man Hospital and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Karen enjoyed her word books, her soap operas, chicken and dumplings, crafting, and sewing. She had a lot of personality: she loved to cut up and joke around, and her laughter was contagious. She loved to spend time with her family especially her great-grandson Lanson. Those left to cherish the memory of Karen are two daughters, Lisa Wisecup and Crystal Curry, both of Man; two sons, David Wisecup and Mandi Pemberton of South Point, OH and Michael Wisecup, both of Man; grandchildren, Marissa Lusk of Charleston, Morgan Church of Fayetteville, Christopher Church, Makayla Curry, and Myranda Robinette, all of Man, and David Ryan Wisecup of TN; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Lusk and McKenna Lusk, both of Charleston, and Lanson Nida of Man; two sisters, Beverly Rakes of Amherstdale and Flora McCoy of KY; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Christopher Church, David Wisecup, Darren Whitt, David Chapman, and T.J. Arthur. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Ollie Parsons officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
